“We could never learn to be brave and patient, if there were only joy in the world.” ~ Helen Keller
We’ve all felt low or “down” before, everyone has had bad things happen. Do you think you would be the person you are today if you’d never had these “bad” experiences? Probably not, everything you’ve been through in life has made you the person you are today and has prepared you for where you’re at.
If we never had gloomy days, we wouldn’t appreciate nice days. Often times we have to experience pain or sadness to really appreciate joy and happiness. If we had instant gratification to whatever we wanted, we wouldn’t learn to be patient, we wouldn’t appreciate things the way we do when we have to wait for them. Think about when you were first on your own and had to buy your own groceries, toiletries, etc….it was sure an eye opening and you learned to use things different or smarter than when your parents or guardians were supplying them, didn’t you?
At some point or another we’ve all been brave, which then brought joy to our lives. From learning to walk and talk to learning to use the computer you’re using to read this. Bravery comes in all different fashions; just remember being brave and finding the courage to learn and grow provides opportunity for joy!
When you are stressed, flustered or afraid, remember that you can overcome anything! Heck, you’ve already gotten this far, and everything that has happened in the past has only bettered you and made you stronger and braver!
Reflect on yourself and your past this week, Think about how amazing, talented and smart you are. Remember all the things you’ve battled in the past and find the lessons in them. Never forget that you are incredible and nothing can stop you!
Bad things are going to happen, but with a little patience and learning from your past, those bad things have no control, they were just stepping stones! Have a wonderful week and remember YOU ROCK!!
