“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life’s realities.” ~ Dr. Seuss
Let me just start by saying, I love Dr. Seuss. I used to read him to my kids; his whimsical and creative way of looking at the world always showed me that we don’t have to take the world so seriously!
Most likely you’ve all heard a saying such as, “laugh or you’ll cry” or “you have to laugh or you’ll cry”. . .why is it that we look at life that way? Life should be fun, enjoy it!
Some people spend their whole lives taking every situation and emotion and tampering with it, making it normal or less dangerous. Why do we do this? Because we want to “fit-in”. Well I believe that even worse than danger, is boredom.
When you’re stifling your creativity and your true self so you can “fit-in” you become frustrated, bored & withdrawn. Let things come at you like they will and handle them in your own ways.
Look around at the world and the things happening in your own life with less seriousness and more imagination. I bet you’ll see things in a whole new light! Ask yourself, “What if. . . .” think beyond the normal boundaries you create for yourself.
Always remember to have fun and smile; imagine bigger and better things so that you can make them your reality!
I challenge you today to do something you find fun, even if it’s embarrassing or you think it’s “stupid”, do it anyway! Skip through the office! Make a paper airplane! Sing a song! Just enjoy doing it and use your imagination! I dare you!
